Library
The Meiji Gakuin University Library has a collection of over a million books as well as research papers to help students expand their knowledge about various subjects and broaden their world view.
The Shirokane Library, which stands at the center of the campus, is a calm space with a warm, wooden interior that feels like a classical-style study room.
The Yokohama Library has a unique, circular entrance and a bright, open interior. From the reading room is a wide open view of Mt. Fuji, Hakone and the far away Tanzawa Mountains.
In the current era of digitized information, Meiji Gakuin’s ratio of digitized catalogued library books and the user-friendliness of its digitized journal collection are topnotch in the country.
Many lectures on information search are offered for seminar and classroom groups. Librarians at the counter answer questions with care and help students resolve problems they may be having.

Proactive Efforts to Enhance IT Infrastructure and Services
Meiji Gakuin University is building an IT network environment at both campuses in order to ensure that students have easy access to the various information services available. Specifically, we have prepared free computer rooms which students can use for their independent studies, and installed many connection modules to allow students with their own laptops to connect to the Internet.
Moreover, a students’ portal site called Port Hepburn has been set up to allow students to easily access information sent out by the university’s academic departments, research centers and various offices, and to register for classes and view their academic scores. Each student is issued an email address at the time of enrollment which can be used for submitting term papers and communicating with faculty members.
