This field study studying about wine in France gave me a precious experience. We didn't know very much about wine. We learnt many kinds of grapes for example, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and more. It was a small thing, but it changed my impression when I drink wine. I like Merlot - Merlot is not very bitter because it has little tannin. It is pleasant that know how the tastes of different grapes.
We also learnt how to taste wine and tried various types of wine. We learnt various expressions regarding the flavour of wine. It was interesting to know tastes like chocolate, butter and flowers, etc. These expressions make conversation more pleasant.
Before we went to France, we studied about the problem of decreasing consumption of wine by young people in France. We could actually feel this problem. I thought that we could enjoy conversation more by earning about wine, in other words, if French people follow a tradition of wine drinking and learning about it “from father to son,” it may provide some solution to the problem. It is important and wonderful for wine to be a part of our daily life.
