Students of Law Major can cultivate sophisticated skills that will help them flourish as professionals, whether as researchers, businesspersons, or other specialists.
The goal of the Law Department is to cultivate individuals who will receive high acclaim both in Japan and overseas, and have the strength to undergo rigorous social assessment.
Our curriculum covers a wide range, from the traditional to the cutting-edge areas of jurisprudence and political science. While the subjects related to politics and public administrations have orthodox names, as well as jurisprudence, the content of the research guidance is extremely innovative as it reflects the unique individuality of each professor.
We have an outstanding array of faculty members who are fully qualified to provide thorough education and research guidance on a wide range of subjects, including such issues faced by modern society as environmentalism, consumerism, computerization, and globalization.
One of the main features of our department is our system of international exchange. We actively invite researchers from Asia, Europe and the US to give various types of lectures, workshops and seminars. Law students are thereby able to interact and exchange opinions with prominent foreign researchers without leaving the country. As our department has deep ties with many universities in Asia, Europe and the US, those students who in particular desire to conduct research overseas will find this system highly beneficial.
Graduates of the Legal Studies find jobs in different areas. For example, some became university researchers, while others choose careers as civil servants specializing in law, government, or public administration, yet others may decide to become specialist professionals. Many of our graduated are highly regarded both in Japan and abroad.
Our Law Department does not offer a Master’s Course.
