Facilities and equipment

At both Shirokane and Yokohama libraries self-service copiers (coin type and copy card type) are available in the library.
The use of copiers in the libraries is limited to “copying for personal use of the library materials.” Please be sure to make copies within the scope of the Copyright Law of Japan, Article 31.
Photocopying of any materials other than library materials is not allowed.
The copy cards are sold at the Co-op shop and from the vending machines in the library (Shirokane: 2F, Yokohama: 1F).

The computers inside the library are used in different ways depending on their application. Authentication is required for all computers except those dedicated for OPAC use. Please do not use the computers for any purpose other than study, education and research.

Computers

• OPAC computers
  

  Individual authentication is not necessary. You can only print receipts on OPAC computers and the on-demand printers cannot be used.

• Desktop/notebook computers
  

  These computers have the equivalent educational and learning specifications as the Computing & Information Center lab computers.

• Computers for viewing audio and video materials (Shirokane: Media Booth, Yokohama: Media Labo)
  

  In addition to the function of information search , you may also use audio-visual materials such as CDs or DVDs.

• Notebook computers available for loan
  

  Borrow and return these computers at the counter. (Wireless LAN is available).
  These computers have the equivalent educational and learning specifications as the Computing & Information Center lab computers.

  Location for use
  Shirokane campus library: Inside the library (2F/5F).
  Yokohama campus library: Inside the library (except for the second reading room on 2F).

• Private Computers
  

  Personal notebook computers may be used in designated locations in the library. A MAIN account issued by the university’s Computing & Information Center is required to link them to the university network.
  If you use audio, please use headphones. (Headphones are available for loan at the circulation counter).

  Yokohama campus library: Inside the library (except for the second reading room on 2F).

Printers

• On-demand printers
  

  You can print out from any of the on-demand printers located in the library. The data is stored for two days. You can access individual accounts to print out data in both Shirokane and Yokohama libraries.
