Our Policy - Meiji Gakuin Will Not Tolerate Sexual Harassment.
Meiji Gakuin University is dedicated to provide and maintain an environment in which all members of the university community can learn, work, and do research with mutual respect and trust. A breach of mutual trust is inconsistent with the Christian foundation of the university declared in the first clause of school regulations, threatening to the freedom of learning and speech, and incompatible with the nature of the university as an academic institution.
Sexual harassment is a serious breach of this respect and trust. It violates human rights, especially those of women, threatens the order of the university, and can have a negative impact on an individual's academic or work performance.
Sexual harassment in any form will not be tolerated throughout Meiji Gakuin University. To that end, the Committee on Human Rights and Sexual Harassment has been established. It provides advice and guidance to university members who believe they have been sexually harassed. It also offers educational programs to prevent sexual harassment.
