The Fifteenth Annual ASCJ Conference
will be held on the campus of the
International Christian University, located in the Western suburbs of
It takes about 40 minutes to travel to the university from
downtown Tokyo, and about two hours to travel from Narita International
Airport. There are a number of hotels in the Mitaka / Kichijoji area,
but as rooms numbers are limited, it may be easier to make reservations
in hotels in the Shinjuku area. Here is a list of hotels within
reasonable distance of both the conference venue and train / subway
connections. Most of the hotels, particularly the larger ones, should
have someone at the front desk who can speak English. Room rates are
subject to change. Participants are also encouraged to investigate
web-based discount hotel search sites such as Travelocity or Expedia.
Hotels in Musashi Sakai
(the station on the Chuo line that is closest to the

This is an excellent business hotel located 30 seconds from the South
Exit of Musashi Sakai Station. The bus to ICU (No. 93) leaves from
immediately in front of the hotel. This is the most
hotel for the conference. It has 92 guest rooms with internet access
available. The cost for a single room is 9,000 yen per night and

Hotel Cititel Musashisakai シティテル武蔵境

This hotel is also located at Musashi Sakai station, about a 2 minute
walk from the South Exit. Single rooms are around 7,400 yen per night. It is a
basic business hotel, clean and convenient to the conference venue.
Please make reservations by telephone or fax. If speaking in English,
the staff will try their best but ask that customers speak slowly.

There are hotels in Mitaka and in
Kichijoji, but if not staying at the Hotel Mets probably just as easy
(and perhaps more convenient) to stay at a business hotel in the Shinjuku area. For example,

In Kichijoji, two stops
from Musashi Sakai
Kichijoji is a popular shopping and dining spot in the Western suburbs
of Tokyo. Kichijoji is also noted for its live Jazz houses. There are
many department stores of boutique shops. The Inokashira Park and the
are located close to the station.

Full-service hotel convenient to Kichijoji Station and shopping
district. It takes about 30 minutes to go from the hotel to the

Another full-service hotel, located just outside the South Exit of
Kichijoji Station, convenient to many small restaurants and Inokashira
Park. No problem in making reservations in English. Rooms cost around
