Information for the conference held at International Christian University (ICU) on June 25-26, 2011.

The Fifteenth Annual ASCJ Conference will be held on the campus of the International Christian University, located in the Western suburbs of Tokyo. [Directions.] It takes about 40 minutes to travel to the university from downtown Tokyo, and about two hours to travel from Narita International Airport. There are a number of hotels in the Mitaka / Kichijoji area, but as rooms numbers are limited, it may be easier to make reservations in hotels in the Shinjuku area. Here is a list of hotels within reasonable distance of both the conference venue and train / subway connections. Most of the hotels, particularly the larger ones, should have someone at the front desk who can speak English. Room rates are subject to change. Participants are also encouraged to investigate web-based discount hotel search sites such as Travelocity or Expedia.

In the Shinjuku area, about 20 minutes by train to Musashi Sakai station on the Chuo line.

Shinjuku is one of Tokyo’s “hot spots,” home to just about anything you want, including a few budget hotels – and some of the most expensive hotels in Japan!

Shinjuku hotels can easily be found on internet discount hotel guides such as:

Finally, for those who want to stay in central Tokyo, close to Roppongi and convenient to public transportation, the new Hotel Asia Center in Asakusa is a good deal. See their website for details:
