 Directions to the conference venue
ICU (International Christian University)

ICU has access information with a map: access (English) アクセス (Japanese)

Musashi-Sakai is the nearest Japan Railway (JR) station to ICU.

From Narita Airport to Tokyo Station

There are many ways to reach Musashi-Sakai from Narita Airport (including limousine bus to Kichijoji where you can change to the Chuo Line), but the Narita Express is the most convenient and the fastest way. Take the Narita Express either to Tokyo Station and change to the Chuo Line and go to Musashi-Sakai station, or take the Narita Express to Shinjuku, and change there to the Chuo Line for Musashi Sakai. Musashi Sakai is one stop after Mitaka. In either case, the trip will take just under two hours. See the Narita Express website for the timetable

* First buy a ticket to Musashi-Sakai at JR Narita Airport Station together with a ticket for the Narita Express to Tokyo Station (or to Shinjuku Station) with seat reservation.  If you purchase the ticket with a credit card, be sure to show your credit card at the very beginning of theå transaction to make clear how you want to pay.

From Haneda Airport to Tokyo Station

Take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsu-cho Station from Haneda Airport Station. It runs every 10 minutes and takes about 20 minutes.

At Hamamatsu-cho Station, take the JR Yamanote line (green line, going for Tokyo) at platform No. 1/No.2. Tokyo station is the third station from Hamamatsu-cho: Shinbashi, Yurakucho, and Tokyo.  It takes about 6 minutes. JR Yamanote line runs every 4 minutes. At Tokyo Station you can transfer to the Chuo Line. Get off at Musashi Sakai.
You can buy a ticket for Musashi-Sakai at Hamamatsu-cho Station.

From Tokyo Station to Musashi-Sakai Station

Go to the platform No.1/No.2 on the first floor in Tokyo station  and take the Chuo-line Rapid (not Special Rapid) to Musashi-Sakai (30 - 35 minutes) - the Chuo-line is an orange color train and there is an orange symbol by the platform entrance. The two stations preceding Musashi-Sakai are Kichijoji and Mitaka (then Musashi-Sakai). The Chuo-line Rapid runs every 5 - 10 minutes.

At Musashisakai Station, go out from the south exit, (go down the right-hand stairs after you go out from the ticket gate). The Odakyu Bus Stop for ICU is located to the left of the bottom of the stairs, in front of the Police Box.

From Musashi-Sakai Station to ICU

Take the #93 bus for ICU at No.2 bus stop (12 minutes). The fare is 210 yen. Buses leave around every 15 minutes. Be sure to go to the last stop (shuten). We will ask the Odakyu Bus Company to operate extra buses on the mornings of conference days. Taxis cost around 970 yen.
