The Fourteenth Asian Studies Conference Japan (ASCJ) will be held on June 19 and 20, 2010, in Waseda University in Tokyo.
Names of all presenters, organizers, chairs, and discussants who have been invited to participate are listed on the ASCJ 2010 web page. If your name is listed there, we ask that you fill out the following form to confirm whether or not you can take part in the conference. The information provided will help us make advance plans for the conference, including the preparation of the program and the reservation of rooms at the conference venue.

It is not possible for ASCJ to provide letters of invitations to persons who are not listed on conference program.

Please note that ASCJ is not in a position to provide financial support for travel or accommodation costs, nor can it act as sponsor for those who need visas to enter Japan. Persons who will be traveling to Japan for the first time should check the visa requirements well in advance.

NOTE. The ASCJ Executive Committee will place all individual papers into "Individual Paper Sessions," organized by subject or discipline. Participants will have 15 minutes each in which to present their papers. The Committee will assign a senior scholar as chair to keep time and to facilitate discussion at the end of the session.

[9] Abstracts: (1) For individual presenters who wish to make changes to their abstracts
(2) For organizers who wish to make changes to entire panels or roundtables abstracts

It is still possible for you to make revisions to the abstract that you submitted to ASCJ. We aim to put all abstracts online before the opening of general registration on April 15. If you send us a revised abstract before this date, we will use the new version. Otherwise, we will use the original abstract submitted to us in the application period. If English is not your native language, we recommend that you ask a good speaker of English to check your abstract for accuracy and style.

The file should follow our standard format (see below).  Save the file in Microsoft Word format (.doc preferably) or in rich text format (.rtf). Please name the file to include your surname: ASCJ 2010 revised surname.doc and give the email the subject line ASCJ 2010 revised abstract. Include your name and affiliation in the body of the e-mail. No other message is needed. We will acknowledge the receipt of your email within a few days.

Standard format for individual abstracts (PDF-1), panel abstracts (PDF-2), roundtable abstracts (PDF-3).

Members of panels should send any revisions to the panel organizer, not directly to ASCJ. The organizer should send us all revisions for the panel in a single file. The same is true of roundtables.

ASCJ can provide a formal letter of invitation to any person listed on the program
. The letter is signed and on official letterhead. It can be sent to you either by PDF attachment or by airmail to an address that you provide below.

Note that ASCJ cannot act as sponsor for visa applications. It is also not possible for ASCJ to provide letters of invitations to persons not listed on conference program.
