専門分野とその概要

専門は、高エネルギー物理学実験の情報科学の適用で、大きな実験装置を用いて、物の小さな部分の研究を行っています。実験データは、１日で１ＴＢテラバイト（１０００ＧＢギガバイト）にもなるので、その解析にはインターネットのようなネットワーク化されたコンピュータの力が不可欠です。常に最新のコンピュータ技術を使って、研究を行っています。現在は、ドイツのハンブルグにあるＤＥＳＹという研究所の中にあるＨＥＲＡとＺＥＵＳという実験装置を用いています。ちなみに、解析のために使用しているモンテカルロ・シミュレーションのプログラムの名前はＭＯＺＡＲＴといいます。
