Born on August 12. 1956 in Saitama, Japan.
Studied law at Hitotsubashi University from 1975 to 1979 as an undergraduate, and further from 1979 to 1987 as
a postgraduate. (Master of Laws)
Also studied philosophy at University of Salzburg, Austria, from 1984 to 1985, as an exchange student of Rotary Foundation.
Served as a Teaching Assistant at Rikkyo University from 1987 to 1988.
Taught Legal Philosophy and other subjects as a Lecturer from 1988 to 1989,
and then as an Associate Professor from 1989 to 1996, at Seinan Gakuin University.
Stayed again in Austria as a Visiting Researcher at Institute of Philosophy, University of Salzburg, from 1994 to 1995.
After coming back to Japan, served as a Full Professor at Seinan Gakuin
University from 1996 to 2000,
then as a Full Professor at Kanto Gakuin University from 2000 to 2005,
and have been teaching as a Full Professor at Meiji Gakuin University since 2005.
Meanwhile stayed at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main in Germany, during sabbatical leave in 2012.
Now also teaching at Graduate School of Chuo University and Law School
of Rikkyo University.
