THE INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, MEIGAKU (IISM)

IISM seeks to develop a higher level of scholarship by encouraging exchanges among the department's faculty in the course of individual and group research. The goal of the institute is to contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary international studies that transcend the existing concepts of the state and disciplinary boundaries. Drawing upon the intellectual heritage that has been accumulated to date, the institute examines the various means of confronting global problems.

MAIN RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The main activities of the institute include (1) the formation of an international database, (2) promotion of group research projects, (3) the organization of symposia and lectures, and (4) the publication of research findings that will contribute to the research and education program.
