Dr. Donna Amoroso is Researcher and Editor of the Kyoto Review of Southeast Asia at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University. She obtained her Ph.D. at Cornell University and has published several articles on colonialism and nationalism in Southeast Asia. These focus on politics in late colonial Malaysia, comparative colonial rule of British Malaya and the Philippines, and historiography of Malaysia. She is co-author, with Patricio Abinales, of the forthcoming State and Society in the Philippines.
