Research
As society is flooded with information, finding value from this information requires mathematical thinking and the design of algorithms that perform calculations and other tasks well. We are engaged in research on both the mathematical and practical aspects of algorithm design, and at the cutting-edge we are also studying algorithms that work with quantum computers, which will play a key role in the next generation. By tackling fundamental questions such as "What is computation?" and "What is computational intelligence?", we aim to develop society based on information mathematics.
Possible graduation research topics
- Understanding quantum computers and designing algorithms.
- Analysis of the relationship between quantum computation and security.
- Solving delivery planning and scheduling problems
- Algorithm research through computer experiments.
- AI-based algorithm design
- Algorithmic research to enable AI
Hobbies, skills and likes
Making itineraries (I also like to travel), seeing many parts of the world.
Message to candidates and students
Many of you use information devices every day. This has been achieved through more than half a century of research and development in information science and technology. By the time you are active in society, new developments will have been brought about. In the Faculty of Information Mathematics and Science, you will learn about information science and technology systematically from the basics, acquire mathematical thinking, develop information systems, understand the mechanisms of cutting-edge quantum computers and artificial intelligence AI, and acquire the ability to solve problems in society on your own. In a social environment that is developing at an incredible pace, why not gain a lifetime treasure?
