I am interested in a property of numbers called "period of algebraic varieties", which is a generalisation of a number that has fascinated people since ancient times, pi. In particular, my research aims to solve the Period Conjecture, which states that "the algebraic relations between cycles of an algebraic variety will be determined by the geometrical properties of the variety". Related areas include transcendental number theory, algebraic number theory, algebraic geometry and differential equation theory.

Message to candidates and students
Mathematical theories are built on the basis of a large number of concepts, but behind the creation of each concept lies "computational experimentation" using a large number of examples. For this reason, we place importance on "realising mathematical objects through calculation". We want students to feel close to mathematics and to study modern information theory together based on a solid foundation.
