This following list of 253 noh plays is in the traditional order, starting with "Okina" and proceeding through categories 1 - 2 - 3 - 4. The Japanese titles given here are in the form given on the UTAHI hangyo bunko site.
Readings follow those given in the Princeton Companion (pp. 335-7) with the following exceptions:
  • (1) Words other than the first word of titles are capitalized only if they are proper nouns (e.g. "Matsu no o" rather than "Matsu no O"
  • -nb- / -np- are used rather than -mb- / -mp-. The spelling with 'b" is given in parenthesis: e.g. "Yamanba (Yamamba)"
  • macrons are omitted, but long vowels indicated parenthetically: "Dojoji (Doojooji)"

  • For titles in aiueo order, see kanji title list (Kanze school) or romanized list. The translation page lists them alphabetically.
