Using other libraries
If you require materials not available at the Meiji Gakuin University Library, you can use materials located at other universities or institutes. You can use libraries that are open to the public (e.g., public libraries). If the other library is not open to the general public, you can access its materials by one of the methods below.
Consortiums
Meiji Gakuin University faculty members and students can use other consortium libraries by presenting faculty ID card/student ID card when they visit.
Letter of Introduction
If you wish to use any materials held in another university library write down the name of the desired material and desired date of use and apply for a letter of introduction at the library counter. A letter of Introduction cannot be issued immediately because Meiji Gakuin University Library needs to obtain confirmation from the holding library.
Photocopy orders (ILL Request)
You can get copies of research papers, or other materials , contained in journals and books from other libraries where allowed by copyright. Use the MyLibrary system to apply, or fill out an application form available at the library and submit it to the counter.
Inter-Library Loan (ILL Request)
You can borrow materials themselves from other libraries. Use the MyLibrary system to apply, or fill out an application form available at the library and submit it to the counter. Materials on loan from other libraries can only be browsed in the Meiji Gakuin University Library. They cannot be taken out of the library. Materials are available for use for a period of time designated by the other library, usually 1 to 2 weeks. In addition, materials on loan from another library may be photocopied within the scope of the Copyright Act and in accordance with “CONTU Guidelines on Photocopying under Interlibrary Loan Arrangements. ”
