Basic Agreement for the Cooperative Partnership between Meiji Gakuin University and Komoro City Enters Its 5th Term

Meiji Gakuin University and Komoro City in Nagano Prefecture (an area with ties to novelist and Meiji Gakuin University graduate Toson Shimazaki) have launched the fifth term of the basic agreement regarding their cooperative partnership, which was established in 2006.

A meeting of the "49th Meiji Gakuin University & Komoro City Partnership Promotion Committee" was held on August 21, 2018. The participants analyzed and discussed the results of the fourth-term cooperative partnership projects which began in 2015.

It was mutually acknowledged that continuity is apparent in many of the partnership's projects and that those projects' contents show increased depth; and that each partnership project conforms to all of the clauses in the "partnership items" set down in Article 2 of the basic agreement and fulfills the agreement's objectives. It was also confirmed by both sides that the partnership agreement between Komoro City and Meiji Gakuin University will be updated and maintained. The fifth term of the basic agreement regarding the cooperative partnership started on August 22, 2018.

The participants mutually reconfirmed that, in the fifth term as well, each project will be continually reviewed without losing flexibility or substance, that the creation of new projects will be undertaken, and that partnership measures will be adopted in order that the special qualities of both Meiji Gakuin University and Komoro City are exhibited more and more extensively.
