University ranks 12th among research institutes, 3rd among private universities for new Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research in FY2018

Meiji Gakuin University ranked 12th nationally (38.9%) and 3rd among private universities for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) awarded for high acceptance rate for new projects in FY2018, according to data released by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on November 7 (the national average was 25.0%). The university came in 18th nationally for the proportion of women receiving new and continuing KAKENHI grants.

KAKENHI grants are competitive research subsidies provided by the government to individuals and groups belonging to research institutes such as universities. Research funded by these grants benefits both university classes and society at large.
