The results of allocations for fiscal 2020 Grants-in-aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) show Meiji Gakuin University ranked 4th (46.4%) for new acceptances. This puts us in first place nationwide among private universities. We furthermore reached 25th place (44.6%) nationwide for percentage of female researchers selected for KAKENHI grants (new and ongoing).

KAKENHI is a competitive research grant sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, particularly designed to foster all forms of academic research (research based on the free ideas of researchers), from fundamental to applied research. The results of KAKENHI-supported research are returned to our courses and to society.
