For publish photographs, interviews, or broadcasts
This section provides guidelines on applications and conditions for using of library materials in photographs for publication , citing of copyrighted materials, borrowing materials for display in exhibitions and interviews and broadcasts for media purposes.
Notes about applying
Permission takes a week to 10 days after the application has been submitted.
Permission will only be given if your objective is recognized as “contributing to academic research, education or culture” and your use does not infringe on others’ human rights.
Application procedure
Submit the following documents to the contact below. Send by email attachment, fax or post.
- 1. A publishing or broadcasting plan, citation request or other document specifically stating the material you wish to use and your objective.
- 2. Application to browse rare and historical collections.
- 3. A borrowing statement.
Depending on the nature of the request, your application may be routed through the Meiji Gakuin University Public Relations Office.
Permission conditions
If applying to use materials, you must agree to the following.
- The applicant is responsible for any costs and procedures involved in the publishing or broadcasting, of the materials.
- Altering or defacing materials is prohibited.
- Images of items in the collection shall be labeled “Meiji Gakuin University Library Collection” to indicate ownership.
- After publication or broadcast, one copy of the publication that reprints, reissues or carries the material or one copy of the video that contains the program with the material shall be donated to the library.
- Rights associated with this permission cannot be transferred to a third party (or secondarily used by another party) without Meiji Gakuin University first granting approval.
