Alumni of Meiji Gakuin University may use the library after completing the prescribed procedures.
If you only wish to browse through materials at the library, the procedure is different than for borrowing materials.
Eligibility to use the library

Persons wishing only to browse the collection
When you visit, go to the circulation counter to complete the entry procedure. Please present proof of graduation from Meiji Gakuin University (e.g., graduation certificate, Alumni Association membership card) and personal identification (e.g., certificate of residence issued within last 3 months, driver’s license, insurance card, passport).
Persons wishing to borrow materials
Please present the required documents and apply for an MG Card (library ID card) at the circulation counter. You can pick up your MG Card after 7 days (excluding weekends and holidays).
Required documents
- Graduation certificate (issued by Academic Affairs Office within last 3 months) or graduate school graduation certificate (issued by Graduate School Office within last 3 months)
- Registration fee: 2,200 yen/year (purchase university stamp on campus)
- Proof of current address (certificate of residence issued within last 3 months, driver’s license, or other document )
Persons bringing an Alumni Association A membership card or class A membership certificate do not need to present (1) and (2) above.
Period of validity:1 year from date of issue
Renewal:If you wish to renew your MG Card, bring your current card along with items (2) and (3) above (only item (3) if you have an Alumni Association A membership card or class A membership certificate) and complete the renewal procedures.

Browsing materials in the library
You may browse books, journals, newspapers, audio-visual materials and microfilm

Borrowing books

Returns
Please return books to the circulation counter or the book-drop in front of the library by the due date. However, books returned to the book-drop will be considered returned on the next opening day of the library. Books can be returned to either the Shirokane or Yokohama Campus Library. If you have any overdue books, you will not be able to borrow any other additional books. Your borrowing rights will be restored the day after the overdue books are returned.

Issuance of referral forms
Referral forms are issued if you need to visit another university library, or to use materials not available at the Meiji Gakuin University Library.

MyLibrary
MyLibrary is an online service portal site provided by the Meiji Gakuin University Library.
Log in with the ID/password shown on the card issued by the library. Services available include inter-site requests, reservation applications, lending/reservation status confirmations, renewal of the due date, and other matters.
The library will send all communication to your registered email address.
