President and vice-president among university representatives to attend commemorative events at Hope College celebrating 50 years of friendship

The partnership between Meiji Gakuin University and Hope College was forged in 1965, making this year the 50th anniversary of the two institutions’ international exchange. Hope College is the first foreign institution with which Meiji Gakuin University joined in an exchange partnership, a partnership that has deepened over the years to include not just short-term and long-term study abroad programs, but also hands-on training for Meiji Gakuin staff members and a variety of other exchange programs.

On Friday, May 29, Meiji Gakuin University welcomed Hope College’s President Knapp and Associate Provost Gonzales for a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary. On November 3-4, Hope College will hold two days of events commemorating the 50 years of exchanges. With representatives of Meiji Gakuin University in attendance, including President Udono and Vice-President Yoshii, the events will look back on 50 years of friendship while reaffirming both institutions’ commitment to further developing the partnership in the future.

The commemorative events are described on the website below.
