Resident Status is a permission by the Japanese government to allow foreigners to reside in Japan.
"Status" and "Duration" are mentioned on your Residence Card.
Since you cannot stay in Japan over the permitted duration, you have to have your Residence Card extended at Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
You may not be allowed the extension if you had poor grades or you could not take credits appropriately.
Please be reminded that it is pretty important to attend classes constantly and try hard to earn credits and good grade!
MGU operates Tuition Reduction System for Full-time International Students.
The Tuition Reduction System is to reduce tuition for Full-time International Students who have financial difficulties.
For the application, you are required to have "College Student" Resident Status, reside in Japan, have earned appropriate credits and so on.
The application will be open once per semester.
Please read the Application Guidelines, which will be available at Port Hepburn carefully and be sure not to miss the application.
In order to start working part-time, International Students have to obtain "Work Permission" from Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
With the Work Permission, you can work up to 28 hours per week during academic semesters and up to 8 hours per day in the long vacations like summer break.
However, it is strictly forbidden to take jobs in adult oriented entertainment (e.g., working in a night club and a pachinko parlor).
Never work in such places or you have to give up your study in Japan.
Besides that, please be sure not to work too much so that you can have sufficient time to study.
