Admission Policy

Meiji Gakuin University has established the following Policy regarding Admission of New Students to ensure that its students acquire the knowledge and capabilities set out in its Human Resource Development Aims and Educational Goals.

Type of Personnel Sought
  1. Demonstrates the fundamental knowledge and skills, reasoning, judgment and expression abilities that are expected outcomes at the senior high school level.
  2. Understands the university’s educational philosophy of “Do for Others”, possesses an interest and inquisitiveness towards people and society, as well as the ambition to earnestly pursue study.
  3. Possesses ambition to independently solve problems and contribute to society.
Basic Policy for Selection of Students
  1. The selection of students assesses whether applicants possess the fundamental capabilities which should have been acquired at a senior high school level and a willingness to adopt objective approaches.
  2. Written examinations mainly assess knowledge, skills, intellect, judgement and expressive capabilities and other fundamental capabilities that should have been acquired at a senior high school level. Interviews look mainly for academic interest and curiosity and a proactive desire to engage in learning.

In order to nurture individuals according to its Human Resource Development Aims and Educational Goals, the Graduate School of Meiji Gakuin University has established the following policy regarding new student admission.

Master’s Programs
Applicant Criteria
  1. Demonstrates abilities acquired at the undergraduate level and possesses the ambition to become an independent researcher or high-level professional by earnestly pursuing more profound academic theories and applications.
Basic Policy for Selection of Students
    Student selection evaluates whether applicants have acquired the prerequisite abilities at the undergraduate level.
  1. Evaluation involves written examinations and/or interviews.
Doctoral Programs
Applicant Criteria
  1. Possesses the ambition to further develop the intellectual foundations acquired through master’s programs by understanding more profound academic theories and applications, with the aim of becoming an independent researcher or distinguished high-level professional.
Basic Policy for Selection of Students
  1. Evaluate whether applicants possess the ambition to further develop the intellectual foundations acquired through master’s programs by understanding more profound academic theories and applications, with the aim of becoming independent researchers or distinguished high-level professionals.
  2. Student selection evaluates whether applicants have acquired the prerequisite abilities through a master’s program.
