“Meiji Gakuin Japan Study Program” is organized and run by the International Center (IC) at Meiji Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan.
IC offers this program for students of our partner universities. Details and application information are announced to the each applicant separately.

*All courses are conducted in English

  • -Lecture of Japanese culture, social issues, business and history
    ex. COOL JAPAN, Social security in Japan, Japanese anime etc. *Please see “Schedule 2018(Tentative)”, for your reference.
  • -Study Tour
    "KABUKI" (traditional Japanese form of theater) tour
    Visit to "Kamakura (ancient city in Kanagawa Prefecture)”
    Shirokane Elementary School Visit, enjoy activities with kids and school lunch.
  • -Experiencing Japanese Culture
    Flower arrangements, WAGASHI(Cooking of Japanese traditional sweets),
  • -Home Stay (Conditional option because of limited number of host-family)

MG Okusawa House

      MGU maintains an off campus co-ed dormitory located in Okusawa.

      Located in a quiet residential district in central Tokyo, with easy access to the Shirokane (approximately 30 minutes door to door) campus, the dormitory offers an environment fit for academic pursuit. All students are required to stay in the Okusawa dormitory for admittance to this prograrm.

      * no meal plan available

          The dorm offers single rooms with shared kitchen, shower, bathroom, laundry facilities and lounge area. Rooms come equipped with a desk, chair, closet, bed, linen and internet access.

          *Check in dates is May 11(Fri), Check out date is May 26(Sat), 2018 (15 nights in total)

Program Fees

JPN 100,000 YEN
Costs for tuition and accommodation are included but costs for participant’s airfares, meals, daily expenses, travel insurance and all transport fees are NOT included.
*Please note that bank commission is charged at both the sending and receiving banks. MGU requests the above mentioned amount to be transferred to our account after all charges are deducted on both ends.
*Please ensure that the bank transfer is made in the APPLICANT’S name. Not doing so will cause a major delay in your check-in procedure.


No scholarship plan is yet available for year 2018.

Travel Accident Insurance/Health Insurance

Overseas travel accident insurance is required for applicants, and the applicants have to submit its copy of the evidence after acceptance.
*Please note that the applicants DO NOT have to buy the insurance policy before the result of acceptance

Application Procedures

Fill in the application forms and please submit them by email with the attached files.

We will notify the result of your application and the next steps in the application process to email of the accepted students by mid March.


Applicants are responsible for obtaining the appropriate Visa if necessary.
MGU International Center has NO responsibility for applicant’s visa matters.

Payment of Fees

The applicants will receive notification email with guidelines for payment once accepted. Follow the guidelines and pay the required fees in one payment by the deadline.
The fees will not be returned for any reason once paid.

MGU Buddy Program

The MGU Buddy Program is a volunteer-based program to assist incoming students during their stay in Japan. Your designated MGU student “Buddies” will help you through the initial transition phase, and are also ready to extend their support in your studies and life in general. We hope that this program will help facilitate friends making process, not to mention promotion of cultural exchange between you and your buddy MGU students.
