Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research
Meiji Gakuin University students join the Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research program when they enroll. This insurance covers disaster and accident injuries occurring during education and research activities and during extracurricular activities for which notification was submitted to the university.
Injuries covered by the insurance benefits
- During regular curricular activities or while participating in school events → Injury receiving medical treatment for 1 days or more
- While commuting to school or in transit between university facilities → Injury receiving medical treatment for 4 days or more
- While on campus during times other than “1” above → Injury receiving medical treatment for 14 days or more
- While engaged in extracurricular activities outside of school facilities with prior notification to the university → Injury requiring medical treatment for 14 days or more
* In cases where the student is hospitalized for reasons “1” to “4” above, there is a separate benefit payment starting fromthe first day.
Procedure for insurance claims
- Within 30 days after the accident occurs, contact the Student Affairs Office, obtain an accident report postcard, and submit the postcard to the Student Affairs Office after filling it out.
- When the injury recovery is complete, obtain an insurance claim form from the Student Affairs Office and fill it out and submit it to the Student Affairs Office.
- The insurance company will transfer the insurance benefit amount to the student’s designated account.
